840 CVD

is a new, sustainable mixed-use development located within Carlsbad Village just steps to transit, restaurants, shopping and world class beaches. The project will replace the former Union Bank that closed in 2023 and includes 50 for sale condominium units and approximately 3,824 square feet of ground floor neighborhood retail space in one five story/45 ft building located at 840 Carlsbad Village Dr.  Residential Units located on levels 2 through 5 range in size from 900-1,800 square feet and provide 1-3 bedrooms. 

The project includes 8 units of affordable housing reserved for moderate and very low-income households. Parking: 47 residential and commercial parking stalls provided in a ground-level parking area. Amenities: Residents will have access to a podium courtyard, an amenity deck (approx. 676 SF), a club room, and a designated bike storage room. Sustainability: The project includes EV charging infrastructure with one active station and three "EV-capable" spaces.

The project is compliant with the City of Carlsbad General Plan and the Village and Barrio Master Plan, both of which designate this site for mixed-use development.   The permits sought to implement the project include a coastal development permit, site development permit, and tentative tract map.
